Section 312IAC5-6-11. Simonton Lake; special boating zones

  •    (a) This section establishes a special boating zone in Elkhart County on Simonton Lake.

      (b) A person must not operate a boat with other than an electric trolling motor or paddle in an area in the southeast corner of the east basin of the lake bounded by buoys designating the boundary of the restricted zone:

    (1) beginning on shore at SPC 2367635.632 (UTM 4622323) north and SPC 251603.940 (UTM 587556) east which is immediately south of Lot #12 of the Dawns Edge Subdivision;

    (2) continuing in a northwest direction to the point at SPC 2367945.962 (UTM 4622414) north and SPC 250981.110 (UTM 587365) east;

    (3) continuing in a westerly direction to the point at SPC 2367511.934 (UTM 4622280) north and SPC 250586.145 (UTM 587246) east; and

    (4) then following the southern shoreline in an easterly direction to the point of beginning identified in subdivision (1).

      (c) Boats may not anchor within this zone.

      (d) In order to be effective, a zone established under this section must include buoys placed on site under 312 IAC 5-4.

      (e) The coordinates used in subsection (b) have the meaning set forth in IC 32-19-1-1, 312 IAC 1-1-27.5, and 312 IAC 1-1-29.3 and referenced as "SPC" and "UTM".
