Section 140IAC2-1-12. Thirty-day temporary registration and license plate; issuance

  •    If circumstances arise that cause a shortage in license plate availability or an inability to provide license plates, certificates of registration, or renewal stickers, then the commissioner or his or her designee may issue a temporary registration and license plate to a person who is initially registering or is renewing a registration for a motor vehicle. The temporary registration and license plate will be valid for thirty (30) days after the issuance date. The commissioner or his or her designee shall determine the specific appearance of the temporary registration and license plate and the manner of displaying the license plate.
