Section 105IAC5-3-1. Reporting requirements

  •    Whenever any railroad, railway company, or corporation operating in rail transportation and engaged in intrastate commerce within the state of Indiana suffers accident, as described in IC 8-3-1-21, the railroad division of the Indiana department of transportation shall be notified immediately, either by telegram or telephone. Providing that, should such accident occur other than during regular office hours of the department, i.e., 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., or on Saturday, Sunday, or holidays, such report will be made to the operation center of the Indiana state police department, Indianapolis, (telephone 317-232-8250) with the request that the investigator of the railroad division, then designated as the duty officer, be notified immediately.
